Whether the patient is an elderly widow struggling to stay in his/her own home or a retiring combat veteran with a serious brain injury, Health Professionals are constantly asked to navigate an increasingly complex system with less help, fewer resources, and almost impossible expectations. This seminar “Understanding Dementia” will help Health Professionals better understand the physical, mental, & emotional consequences of conditions ranging from sports related injuries in adolescents to Alzheimer’s in the frail elderly. Health professionals completing this course will also gain insights into the stress, anxiety, and depression that often plague dementia patients and their families. Incorporating these insights into daily practice and sharing this information with colleagues, staff, and caregivers can enhance quality of life for everyone involved.
